Junior Academy of Excellence
(Ages: 5 – 11 years old)
The Development Academy will serve as a development arena for the areas' top players. This will also be a destination point within the community for shared learning and experiences for the field hockey players. One of the major advantages of the academy programs is having players receive integrated oversight and development by top rank coaches who specialize in youth development.
Mission Statement
The mission of the G-FORCE Development Academy is to teach the proper field hockey skills and techniques. We emphasize the Technical, Tactical and Social skills of the game. We will nurture and monitor the development of ALL players in the academy. This development includes self discipline and respect, while providing an environment that will encourage excellence and character-building.
Many people refer to our Academy as a Junior Academy of Excellence. We specialize in Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD) training. All players develop their skills at different rates, and they all have various individual skill development needs. Our LTAD training, are structured individual Development Plans for our athletes. This is to ensure that each player gets the right training to properly develop their skills, while nurturing their development.
As the skills and understanding of the academy players elevate and become proficient, these players will progress through to the Elite Training Programs. Our aim is to teach the proper skills and techniques to ALL players who enter the academy. We specialize in preparing and creating the stars of tomorrow, today!
Goalies are Welcomed!!!
The Development Academy also caters to aspiring Goalkeepers.
We have some of the most successful and highly-skilled coaches who specialize in training goalies to master the art of goal keeping. Our goalie coaches help you master the necessary skills to become an elite goalie: i.e. decision-making, reaction time and other intricate skills to goal keeping. Coach Best leads the charge to ensure that all goalies in the Development Academy are getting the sound fundamental training required to elevate to the elite level.
